- Firstly let me apologize for the lateness of organizational
- details for the Interop meeting. We were failed by the list
- at the end of the day which stopped any email finding its
- way to WinSock folks. There will therefore be people who'd
- like to be at Interop but can't be because of how late
- they learnt about the event. Fear not. We will publish a
- revised framework & requirements document after that event
- which we will give folks a chance to comment on before we all
- start executing on it.
-
- Because of the vast number of requests for functionality
- additions we've had for WinSock 2 we'd like to focus on creating
- a sensible operating framework for making WinSock 2 happen.
- At the same time we don't want to have a kitchen sink WinSock 2.
- So we need a framework that allows us to make good decisions
- about what we want to do and how we want to do it.
- Everyone's input to this is very important in making sure
- we have the best possible chance of delivering a WinSock 2
- spec. To that end we'd like the agenda for the Interop
- WinSock 2 meeting to be as follows:
-
- AGENDA
- ------
- 1. Objectives & Mission Statement for Windows Sockets 2
- 2. Requirements Document
- - What do we need to do
- 3. Revisit objectives & Mission for Windows Sockets 2 in the light of
- 2. above
- 4. Optional Functionality Mechanism
